History of Architecture 1

 Reviews the development of Architecture in the ancient Near East: Anatolia, Levant, Mesopotamia, Persia, and Egypt, where the ancient civilizations raised changing the form of society and so its reflection on buildings: temples, palaces and simple dwellings. The course highlights the building materials utilized at this region, its relation with the climate and geology as well as the ways the ancient architect adapted with these challenges. The student should understand the concept of architectural styles, its transformation through time and regions due to human displacement.
