Minor Surgery & General Emergencies

This course introduces the third year students of the Faculty of Dentistry to the basic principles of minor surgical topics and surgical diseases most encountered in practical life with an emphasis on causes, diagnosis, and treatment. Where the course covers topics (clinical surgical examination of the patient - surgical instruments - ties and sutures - sterilization and disinfection - methods of anesthesia in surgery - preparing the patient for surgical work - giving medicines orally and injections - parenteral nutrition and patient care after surgery and blood transfusion - trauma - burns - Bandages, belts, and scarves - local infections and abscesses - in addition to surgical treatments for systemic lesions), in addition to surgical treatments for systemic lesions). In this course, the student is introduced to the examination of vital signs, and first aid methods.
