The course aims to introduce the chemical and physical properties of concrete, mainly its mechanical properties, with a thorough study of the effect of concrete components: cement, gravel, water and additives on these properties. In addition to explaining the joint action of concrete with steel reinforcement of its different types and showing the effect of the properties of both steel and concrete on the mechanical behavior of structural elements.
