Manara University organized a lecture on “The Concept of Clinical Pharmacy and its Role in Improving Medicine both Therapeutically and Economically”

As part of the academic activities of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Manara University organized a lecture on “The Concept of Clinical Pharmacy and its Role in Improving Medicine both Therapeutically and Economically”. The lecture was presented by Dr. Afra’a Zreiqi, lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and dealt with three major points. The first explicates the concept of clinical pharmacy and the tasks of the clinical pharmacist as a complementary asset to the specialist physician in determining the best treatment medication plan which suits the physio-pathological conditions of the patient in terms of effectiveness, safety and cost, i.e. dealing with each patient as a special unique case in accordance with the concept of “Personalization of Therapy”. The second deals with occupational practice sites for the professional clinical pharmacist, which are not restricted primarily to the hospital, and extend to include pharmacies in other social settings and medical centers. The third axis focuses on the standards accredited for evaluating the services provided by clinical pharmacists, with special focus on the standard of minimizing mortality ratio and injuries resulting from medication, and he standard of medication cost reduction and its role in improving therapy in the field of medical practice.
