The course reviews the development of ecclesiastical architecture in Europe from the classical heritage, where it studies the Romanesque, Gothic, and up to the Renaissance era, which brought about a societal revolution that was reflected in the architectural facilities. Starting from this point, the course continues by reviewing the new in architectural functions and the differentiation in architectural thought between the dominant regions (Italy, Germany, France and Britain) reaching the period of the Industrial Revolution, the starting point for the formation of architectural schools.
