A trip to Naya Institute for Special Education

On the occasion of the International Day for Occupational Therapy, which coincides with the 27th of October the Department of Occupational Therapy, Faculty of Health Sciences at Manara University organized a trip to Naya Institute for Special Education. The Department of Occupational Therapy briefed the institute's administration and its cadres on occupational therapy and the role it plays in solving learning disorders. This was followed by a series of assessment studies by the fourth year students, under the supervision of Dr. Ghayad Darwich, head of the Department, to assess handwriting, how students hold their pens and seating positions. The children participated in a number of guided activities for coordenatet movements, hand movements and balancing. The Institute briefed the visitors on the services it offers in the field of special education, improving learning disorders and psycho-motor therapy .
