As part of the academic activities of the Faculty of Architecture, Manara University organized a public lecture on "Water Bodies in Tourist Resorts”. The lecture was presented by Dr. Ahmad Ziyad Al-Abbasi and it dealt with significant issues, such as the importance of tourism activities in enhancing the economic, social, cultural and health levels, and the historical significance of water, being the secret of life, and the relationship between water bodies in the resorts and compatibility with the geographical setting and the architectural heritage of each country. In addition to that, the lecturer highlighted the importance of water bodies being the real lungs of their surrounding environments, presented examples of the geometrical shapes of swimming pools and illustrations of international resorts from different countries on the Mediterranean.
