Admission Requirements
1. Admission based on secondary school certificate:
• Holders of secondary school certificate / scientific stream are admitted in all faculties upon meeting the minimum grade requirements.
• Holders of secondary school certificate / literary section are admitted in the faculties of business administration, media and communication.
• Holders of secondary school certificate / vocational section are admitted according to the ratios specified by the ministry of higher education, provided that the specialties are compatible with the vocational section specialty.
Non Syrian secondary school certificates are accepted on the condition of issuing them by any of Arab or international governmental educational institutions or private educational institutions recognized in their home countries according to the decisions of the higher education counsel provided that the equivalent process of the certificate by the Syrian ministry of education by the ministry of higher education. The original certificate is required with original copies duly certified by the Syrian embassy in the relevant country and from the ministry of higher education and it should be translated into Arabic. The ministry of higher education ensures the validity of the certificates and then the ministry sends it to the ministry of education for its equivalence with the Syrian certificate. If the issued certificate is not valid, the student's record shall be cancelled and the student shall be prosecuted for forgery. Upon the inability to ensure the validity of the documents, the student is given one academic year and the record is cancelled by the end of that year if the documents are not validated.
• It is not necessary for secondary school certificates to be recent.
2. Admission based on the certificate of an institute :
Students who hold an institute certificate are admitted to the university on the following conditions:
• The student's specialty is compatible with the targeted specialty according to the ministry of higher education regulations.
• Minimum graduation average is 70%.
• If students' high school average is equivalent to the acceptance average on the admission year, they are accepted without taking into account the institute graduation average.
• Students are treated in both cases on the basis of the intermediate institute certificate.
• The waiver cannot exceed 20% of the credit hours in the faculty a student will be admitted in according to the decision of specialized university boards and a decision of waiver by the university board.
3. Admission based on the university certificate:
Students holding a bachelor's degree are admitted according to the following conditions:
• Students' bachelor degree should be equivalent with the targeted specialty according to the ministry of higher education rules.
• Bachelor's certificate average should be (good) at least.
• If students' high school average is equivalent to the acceptance average on the admission year, they are accepted without taking into account the bachelor's certificate average.
• Students are treated in both cases on the basis of the bachelor's certificate.
• The waiver cannot exceed 50% of the credit hours in the faculty a student will be admitted in according to the decision of specialized university boards and a decision of waiver by the university board.
Admission requirements in Faculties that require admission tests:
1. Admission in the Faculty of Architecture requires passing the entrance examination specified by the faculty and announced for on the university website.
2. Admission in the Faculty of Performance Arts/ Department of Acting requires passing the entrance examination specified by the faculty and announced for on the university website.
3. Admission in the Faculty of Engineering/ Department of Robotics and Smart Systems requires that the student score a minimum of 310/340, after weighting physics and mathematics, and passing the entrance interview specified by the faculty and announced for on the university website.
4. Admission in the Faculty of Health Sciences/ Department of Occupational Therapy requires passing the entrance interview specified by the faculty and announced for on the university website.
Note:
If students holding an institute or bachelor's certificate (high school certificate) in the designated specialty and the target specialty is not equivalent with their original specialty, they are exempted from taking university requirements courses in case of the following:
1. Credit hours are equal.
2. Equivalent curricula with at least 75%.
3. The average in the course should not be less than (2) or 60 %.
