A musical appreciation activity entitled "altakht alshrqi"

Manara University embraced a musical appreciation activity entitled "altakht alshrqi", during which a group of young musicians from the Institute of Mahmoud Ajjan presented pieces from the Arab and oriental musical heritage. The musician played Ghanim Haddad's "Gypsy Dance" and the Iraqi composer Naseer Shamma's "Zaman Alnahwand" and the Turkish "Sultani Yegah Sirto" and concluded with a piece of their own entitled "Ajam Ashiran". The songs performed by the student Mais Hourani added to the glamour of the activity as she sang two original classics with distinction. The activity was a practical introduction into the concept of takht sharqi in Arab culture.
