Exam system
1. The final grade of the course is calculated according to the total grades of the semester and the grades in the final examination of that course.
2. The final grade is registered out of 100 and the practical training courses that are based on pass or fail only are excluded without being calculated in the general average if any.
3. The general framework of the examinations is according to the following:
· Theoretical courses:
- Applied faculties:
Semester grades are assigned a percentage not over (50 %) of the course’s grade where two tests at least should take place during the semester and the final semester is assigned (50%) at least of the result and is written and thorough.
- Theoretical faculties:
Semester grades are assigned a percentage not over (40 %) of the course’s grade where two tests at least should take place during the semester and the final semester is assigned (60%) at least of the result and is written and thorough.
v Students who obtained less than (25%) of the first semester grades are not allowed to take the theoretical exam and students who do not get (25%) of the theoretical exam do not pass.
· Courses with a practical side, seminars applied projects and clinics:
- Faculty boards explain and approve the distribution of grades of those courses.
- Faculty boards issue by the beginning of each academic year a decision that indicates the distribution of the theoretical and practical grades.
4. The teacher of the course is responsible for printing exam questions, preserving them and handing them to the deanship.
5. Students are allowed to object to the results within a week of the issuance of midterm tests.
6. Students are allowed to object to the final results within ten days of the issuance of the course’s results and the dean in this case can form a committee, chair it or delegate this responsibility to the deputy dean to make sure that no questions are left unmarked or if there is a mistake in marking.
7. The teachers of the course are responsible for marking all exam papers of course they are teaching.
8. Detailed marks documents and final grades are sent to the directorate of examinations for checking and then sent to the deanship to issue them.
9. Students pay a fee for each request to review their marks and the fees are determined according to the decisions of the ministry of higher education.
Absence and excuses
Students who miss the midterm or final exams are considered absent and get zero in the courses they miss.
Grades
1. The university follows the percentage system and the minimum mark of passing each course is (50/100) or (60/100) according to the executive laws of university regulations.
